If your printer produces labels wider than the RW-4 can take, the RW-7 provides a powered rewinding station for rolls up to 177.8 mm wide. It collects printed output into an aligned roll ready to store or load into a compatible applicator.

The same unit can serve as an unwinder in a suitable printer setup. Its extra width comes with a smaller maximum roll diameter than the RW-4, so check both measurements rather than choosing by width alone.

Overview

The RW-7 handles printed roll stock beside a desktop label printer. Adjustable winding speed, core adaptors and the dancer arm help keep the web under control during a production run. It can also feed a printer from a supply roll when the printer supports external stock.

Where it fits

It belongs between label printing and applying: it winds the finished labels into a usable roll. It is not a label printer, a container applicator or the built-in waste-liner rewinder of the AP380e/PL400e.

Choose Setup

Choose RW-7 for labels up to 177.8 mm wide on a finished roll no larger than 152.4 mm in diameter. Choose RW-4 if 120 mm width is enough and you need up to 203.2 mm roll diameter. Choose RW-8 for wider, larger or heavier 76.2 mm-core rolls.

Verify media compatibility

Send us your printer model, label web width, roll diameter and core, material, winding orientation and downstream applicator model. Very flexible labels may need a trial to confirm clean winding.

FAQs

Is RW-7 automatically better than RW-4 for every roll? No. RW-7 takes wider media, but its maximum roll diameter is 152.4 mm versus the RW-4’s 203.2 mm.

Does it rewind the waste backing liner from an applicator? No. It is for label-roll handling at the printer. The AP380e and PL400e have their own built-in waste-liner rewinders.

Can it feed labels into my printer? It can act as an unwinder, but the printer must support the intended external stock path. Tell us the printer model so we can check the setup.

Can I use a 76.2 mm core?Yes. DTM includes a 76.2 mm adaptor alongside smaller core options.
