Labelling boxes, lids or flat-sided containers by hand means lining up each label from scratch. The AP550e holds a compatible item in position and applies a single pre-printed label when you bring its arm to the surface, helping make repeat batches more consistent.

It is designed for flat surfaces and many tapered packages, including some bottles, tins, boxes and pouches. It does not need compressed air. If your main job is labelling the curved side of round bottles, the AP360e or AP380e is the better machine to examine.

Overview

The AP550e is a benchtop applicator for repeat placement of labels on compatible flat or near-flat surfaces. Position the item against the guide, set the label offset and pull the arm across; the machine dispenses and presses down one label. The display provides a counter and saved settings for recurring jobs.

How to plan a repeat run

  1. Load a compatible pre-printed label roll and set the guides and label position.
  2. Position a test package on the platform and apply a label.
  3. Check placement and adhesion, adjust the settings, then present each subsequent item in the same way.

DTM quotes up to 500 items per hour in suitable conditions. You still load and remove each item by hand. The AP550e does not print labels and has no built-in waste-liner rewinder.

Choose Setup

Good fit: packages with a stable flat labelling area and a repeatable position against the guide. Check first: very small, soft, curved or irregular items, and labels that are particularly thin or flexible. DTM offers a separate container holder solution for some unusual shapes.

Provide the item’s dimensions, photographs from the front and side, the area you want to label, and the label’s dimensions and material. For transparent labels, the AP550e’s optical sensing needs a suitable black mark on the roll. We can check the media and package together before you commit.
